• How does the service work?

You decide which areas you want to receive alerts for police activities (laser, radar controls, speed cameras, license and registration etc). Either of these services will provide you information regarding where you can get the cheapest fuel. You simply send an activation code to our number and you will start receving messages. At any point you can send an stop code and cancel the service. Thereby you avoid paying out large monthly or yearly fees. Areas chosen by you can br changed at all times to suit your specific requirements For example, if you are in the Melbourne CBD, you can select messages for that area. If you are planning to drive from Geelong to Melbourne you can activate messages for Highway M1 Geelong Melbourne. Once arrived at your destination, you can simply cancel messages for that route.

• How do I subscribe to Road Info?

At this stage people can just activate areas, and you will be charged by your phone company.

• How do I find out which areas I can activate?

Send LIST VICTORIA to 1979 0000, and you will receive a list of the different areas and short codes for your state.  Or check out Areas/Shortcodes.

• Where does Road Info get the information from?

We get our information from drivers who are constantly on the road in the areas which we cover and from subscribers like you. Always remember to report police activities (e.l. mobile speed cameras, laser and radar traps, license and registration checks) to our support hotline.

• What does it cost to receive an SMS from Road Info?

When you subscribe to our service, you will be charged 55 cents for each message you receive. All charges will be billed directly through your mobile phone provider. Today's penalties for speeding can be expensive at best, at worst, you could get your license suspended if you have a speed 25 kph higher than the legal limit where caught. Speeding fines range from $135 for 10 kph over the limit and up to $387 if you are 44 kph over. You really don't want to know the fines for 45 kph or more over the limit!!

55 cent Vs $$$ ...... The answer is easy
